Finding affordable areas to live in can be stressful, but it is not impossible.
If you're willing to move just a short drive away from a big city, you're more likely to find an affordable area to live in. If you haven't done your research, you don't have to. HomeSnacks, a digital hub showcasing what it is like to live in different areas, released a list of the most affordable places in each state.
The report had some interesting facts to add about The Land of 11,000 Lakes:
"Word on the street is that Minnesotans don’t know what unemployment is. Minnesota has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation. They actually have over 20 Fortune 500 companies. They are the home to Target (yes folks, Target), and we can thank Edina, MN for Caribou Coffee."
To find the cheapest places in the state, HomeSnacks looked at data from the 2015-2019 Census American Community Survey. The data consisted of three main components around income and costs:
- Median Home Price / Median Income
- Median Income / Median Rent
- Median Home Price
