The fire that began in Green Bay in late April continues to burn as players across the NFL are set to report to training camp in the upcoming days.
Earlier this week Adam Schefter reported that Aaron Rodgers turned down a two-year extension that would have made him the highest paid player in the league. On Friday morning the news continued to get worse for the Packers and their fan base.
Davante Adams and the Packers are reportedly ‘in a bad place’ after extension talks have come to a halt before players report to training camp on Tuesday.
Losing the reigning MVP in Rodgers would be a huge blow to the Packers offense, but losing a top-three wide receiver down the road would make the transition to the Jordan Love era that much harder.
A lot remains to be seen over the next month or so, but as it sits right now it doesn’t seem like things are going to smooth over in Green Bay any time soon.
