Researchers Zeroing In On Historic Ship Location

Divers and archaeologists believe they are close to finding the remnants of Captain James Cook's ship that was used to travel around the world and claim Australia for the British.  Members of the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project and the Australian National Maritime Museum provided an update on Friday, indicating a site just off the Goat Island shore holds promise.  The British are believed to have sunk the "Endeavor" in Newport Harbor during the Revolutionary War, along with a dozen other transport ships.  Researchers began studying the site in 1993.
